We had an amazing vacation with one of our favorite families, the Browns back in August. We headed up to Grayling, MI and stayed in Lindsey's family cabin on the AuSable River. It is a crystal clear, very cold spring fed river. The cabin was a rustic and amazing log home that sits on a wooded lot and a dirt road. We cooked big breakfasts each morning, relaxed by the river, grilled out for dinner, and even had a Dr. Phil session on the porch (I'll spare you the details). Steve and Ryan took the older kids canoeing while Lindsey and I did some small town shopping. The following day we headed to Mackinac Inland. It was a warm rainy day, which made it very interesting! We basically walked to explore the entire Island(with Lindsey 7 months pregnant and me 5 months!), ate a a pizzeria, and loaded up on fudge for the ferry ride back. It was a beautiful Island and we hope to go back. On our last day we visited a State Pines Park. It was a historical forrest with pine trees that are hundreds of years old and many stories about how the first settlers resourced these forrest's. I just love historical tid bits! It was a super fun weekend that we are so thankful that we got to enjoy.
